Highlight now monitors Cisco Webex meeting rooms alongside the rest of the network, giving managed service providers one place to see device status, without a separate login to Webex Control Hub.
The capability is live today for every Highlight partner, not a roadmap item. IPTel Solutions, a Cisco and Meraki partner, was first into production, using it to run its new Meeting Rooms as a Service offering and give customers one consistent view of how their meeting spaces are performing.
“With Highlight, we can now see how the meeting room environment is performing in one place without having to log into the Cisco Webex Control Hub.
The integration with our ticketing system is particularly valuable because, if there is an interruption to the service, we can be alerted and respond before the customer is even aware of a problem.
As a managed service provider, Highlight allows us to take customers on a journey, which is a genuine partnership.”

The move follows a familiar pattern for MSPs and their customers: separate tools for separate parts of the estate. Webex rooms, like Wi-Fi, SD-WAN and the rest of the network, have traditionally needed their own login and their own way of checking status.
Highlight now brings Webex meeting rooms into the same view as everything else, so partners aren’t switching between tools to find out why a room isn’t working.
Using Highlight, partners can give customers a plain view of how their meeting rooms are performing, tied to the same location and service tiles they already use for the rest of their network.
This helps both technical and non-technical stakeholders understand, at a glance, whether a meeting room issue is a device problem, a network problem, or something else, and how it’s affecting the people trying to use the room.
It’s available to every Highlight partner today. No extra setup, no separate contract. If you run Webex meeting rooms for your customers, or your own, monitoring for them is already switched on inside Highlight.

“The Highlight platform has been operational across IPTel’s own infrastructure and its customer environments, leveraging Highlight’s strong multi-tenancy capabilities to oversee multiple organisations from a single platform, with great feedback from IPTel’s clients.
We’re delighted with this latest collaboration which has resulted in a scalable way for IPTel to extend its managed service proposition beyond network infrastructure and into a full meeting room managed service.
The new Webex integration into Highlight is also available to all our other managed service provider partners, their customers and our direct customers.”

Cisco Webex meeting rooms bring together the cameras, microphones, speakers, touch controllers and displays that make up a modern meeting space, used by organisations of every size to run hybrid meetings.
Highlight’s Webex meeting room monitoring auto-discovers these devices and shows their status next to the network they run on, no separate login to Cisco’s own tools needed. It’s included for every Highlight partner, live today.
